And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. Tit 3:14 New This WeekOCC in Romania 2009Sunday 7th March: Louis gave a presentation on his trip to Romania at the end of last year, as part of the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child field mission. Here is his PowerPoint presentation and the short video with which he concluded his talk (although it is short (5 min), it is quite a big file). Older StuffNewsletterOur new newsletter, that is intended to 'bring us closer together as a family', March Edition is out now. It includes a report on the AGM and a reminder of the AsiaLink presentation we had on the Maldives Islands. Many have been encouraged by what God is evidently doing in the lives of His children and it is hoped that these encouragements can be shared in the pages of the newsletter to "cause growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love" (Eph 4:16b). This is to be your voice; please use it! Sven's MiracleHear a recording of Matthias' testimony given this Sunday 24th January, concerning the wonderful miracle when God saved his son Sven from tragedy on Sunday 17th January. Farewell to GastonsThe church said Click on the thumbnail of Ann's picture for a larger view and also see Mossy's piece in the January Newsletter. Intercessory Prayer MeetingsWith the Gaston's leaving, we need to consider an alternative venue for our Monday night meetings. Amanda has graciously offered her home for the short-term, but she will be busy with preparations to follow Stephen to the States and it is likely that this arrangement wont be practicable for long. Thus, there is likely to be an interim period, before the new building is ready, that we will need somewhere else to meet. Please pray for God to show us the way to continue. Bible Study QuestionnaireAs mentioned at church today (Sunday 17th January), the questionnaire we did at Bible study on 12th Jan is now available from the Bible studies page. VIA Start Time ChangePlease note another change: from now on VIA will start at the later time of 8.00 pm. New TractThere is a new tract available titled: 'It's Never Too Late'. Inspired by Bob Gass' devotional 'Eleventh Hour Grace' and comments we hear on the streets, this tract uses Bible verses to expose one of Satan's most wicked lies. You can read or download 'It's Never Too Late' and our other tracts by going to the literature page. New BuildingThe loan is approved and apart for a few details to tie down concerning planning permissions, all looks to be in order for the church to go ahead with the purchase. Praise the Lord for His goodness and for the faith of our elders in pressing forward even when the original loan application was turned down. There is still a long way to go, especially with development work to convert the building to suit our needs. Please pray that God will move people's hearts to contribute both funds and their time and expertise for the next phase. EEC ForumIf you've enjoyed blogging about the newsletter articles and submitting the odd 'thought for the day' take a look at the Ennis Evangelical Church Online Community (aka the Forum) at www.ennisevangelicalchurch.org/forum. At the Forum you can ask questions, chat about issues, leave feedback, in fact have your say about most things to do with our faith, our church or our community! Please use this facility and use it responsibly. Using the forum is fairly straightforward and there's a comprehensive FAQs section to help you find answers if you get stuck. Safeguard - The EEC Child Protection PolicyNow available on-line. Go to the literature page to download Safeguard and other church documents. Blog Benefits
