We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2Co 5:20b

Are You at Peace with God?

The Bible tells us that God is the creator of everything.  Since God has made us, He has the right to require that we be like Him.  From the Bible we learn that God is pure, just and holy and therefore He hates sin, which is any impurity, injustice or unholiness.  For man to understand what God is like and what He requires, God has given us His law, a summary of which is found in the Ten Commandments. When God created man he was good, but Adam rebelled against what God commanded.  Through his sin, judgement came to all men with its resulting condemnation and death.  The fact is all of us have become like Adam. None of us has kept God's commands.  Each lie we tell, each unkind thought we have, shows that we are, by nature, enemies of God, unable and unwilling to obey His law.

God is angry at sin and will punish it because He is just and holy. The judgement day is coming and not even one sin will be overlooked.   God's justice must be satisfied for breaking His law and unless His wrath is turned aside, we will experience God's judgement forever.  Is it possible for sinful people like us to escape this judgement?

The good news of the Gospel is that God in His mercy has provided a way for people to be cleansed of their sin.  He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to earth.  Jesus became the perfect mediator for us because He is both God and Man.  By living a sinless life Jesus obeyed God's commands at all points.  When He was crucified on a cross He bore the judgement for sin, once for all. Jesus died as a substitute for those who trust in Him.  After being buried for three days, Jesus rose from the dead.  His resurrection shows His victory over sin and death.  Christ's perfect sacrifice satisfied the justice of God.  Jesus now calls us to turn from our sin and believe the good news that forgiveness and eternal life can be found by trusting in Him alone.  If you would like further information about Jesus Christ and the forgiveness that can be found through Him, please contact us.
